BELGRADE 30 Jul 2015 (Tanjug) Serbia will do all that it can to prevent Kosovo's membership in the UNESCO, Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dačić said on Thursday. "Serbia will do all that we can to make it known to UNESCO member states that, from the political aspect and the aspect of cultural heritage, it would be a detrimental move." Dačić said in the Serbian parliament.

Dačić noted that it is important that all institutions - the Ministry of Culture, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts - all join the diplomatic efforts to preserve the Serbian cultural heritage. "It is important that we prevent a revision of history from taking place because the fundamental intent of the proponent of the initiative is for the Serbian cultural heritage to become Kosovo's," Dačić said and noted that the Pristina side is using all situations to disregard the Brussels Agreement and, among other moves, apply for membership in specific organisations that have never been discussed, such as the UNESCO.
